More than my passion for photography is my passion for sport and storytelling. My primary focus is discovering and documenting those in-between moments: that last still moment before the gun goes off, the down on your hands & knees after a gut-wrenching effort, the embrace of teammates after a big score… there is beauty in grit, effort, pain, emotion — and that’s what sport is all about.
It’s clear that female athletes have been told for a very long time what they’re supposed to look like. And we’ve seen this content a million times over. The fully dolled up Olympian on the cereal box, the quad stretch on the cover of Runner’s World, the perfect stride at sunset, etc. On top of that, a majority of these images were captured through the male gaze.
I’m here to change that. Insert the female gaze, storytelling, 10+ years experience as an athlete and I’ll show you what women in sport really looks like. The raw + genuine moments. Images that I hope will make you feel like you were standing right there.
My creative approach is to find the shots that you didn’t even know you wanted or needed. The unexpected. At the end of the day, I am happy to be constantly learning, growing, challenging myself, working with talented humans, and making things I am proud of.
